Poems by Libby

These are 2 poems that Libby wrote during 3rd grade. Her teacher, Trish Farrington, told me that her husband, a former English professor at Mt. Holyoke, picked her poems out as the best ones in the class!

Anything

I feel like there's not anything in my head.
I really want to go to bed.
I really don't know what to write.
I have an itchy mosquito bite.
My words are spinning round and round.
I can't hear a single sound.
I can't find a word to rhyme.
Is that really such a crime?

Raindrops

the beat to
the raindrops
falling
down from
the sky
are like a drummer
very softly
drumming
to the raindrops
going...
drip
drip
drip
